February Hasn’t Been Groupon’s Month

So after the debacle of a super bowl ad last weekend, Groupon has another issue that’s inciting some angry customers.

“The problem surfaced when several Groupon customers found the flowers they bought were priced lower as sale items on FTD’s own website. They complained on the Groupon site and the Internet that FTD was making up for the Groupon discount by jacking up the prices”, said the Huffington Post chiming in on the story.

Both companies deny that there is veracity to any of this although it does seem rather suspicious.

But after complaints and probably not being able to afford more bad press, Groupon and FTD are offering refunds.

I’m not sure I’m buying this story. What do you guys think?
